DocuQueer Event Information

The American Library Association has generously offered to host our meeting at 9am on August 10th. Their headquarters are located at 50 East Huron (entrance at 40 East Huron Street) in Chicago, Illinois. They are close to the Allerton Hotel, theOmni Hotel, and the Holiday Inn Express Magnificent Mile. If these hotels are too expensive, I would recommend looking for hotels along the city’s red line subway. All current activities planned are easily accessibly via this train route.

There is no fee to attend this portion of the satellite meeting. We must provide ALA with a list of attendees so they can gain access to the building, so please RSVP HERE no later than August 8th.  A list of our presenters and their topics can be found below:

After the Presentations:

On August 10th, after the presentations, participants are welcome to get lunch individually or as a group. At 1pm, anyone who is interested in discussing the future of the LGBTQ Users SIG is highly encouraged to attend. One of the most critical components of this meeting will be identifying leadership for the following year. Unfortunately, both Rae-Ann and Lucas are unable to act as conveners after this year’s WLIC. If you have an interest in serving in this or any other capacity, please let us know. Even if you are not able to attend this meeting, sending your information along will help us put you in contact with other interested. parties. In addition, we will discuss various topics including:

  • What projects the SIG has recently been invited to participate in
  • What activities people would like to pursue with the SIG

If you have anything you would like to add to this agenda for the meeting, please send this information to  It has been an incredible pleasure working with everyone these past three years and we look forward to still being involved in the LGBTQ Users SIG as it continues to grow. Thank you for everyone who has made this group so successful in its first few years!
